New History Lab is a postgraduate community based in the School of History at the University of Leicester. Studying the Arts can often be an isolating experience, so we organise regular informal events at which we can share our enthusiasm for history over tea, cake, and a trip to the pub. Featuring a wide range of guest speakers, we welcome anyone with an interest in the past.

The lab meets every other Friday during term, always following our established format:

4:30pm - Tea and Cake
5:00pm - History
6:00pm - Pub

If you're interested in joining the committee, baking cake, have ideas for who could present a lab, or are interested in helping out in other ways please DO get in touch with us! We'd particularly welcome having an MA/MRes student on board.

We also run extra labs during the summer and in collaboration with other departments and organisations. For more information about upcoming events, please see our 'Current Programme' page. You can also follow us on Twitter or join our Facebook group for regular updates.
